Qigong

Qigong is a physical, spiritual, energetic and medicinal meditative movement practice descended from ancient East Asian shamanic rituals.

MogaDao qigong forms bring all aspects of being into harmony, following the Chinese Five-Element system. Moving through the archetypes of Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal, practitioners become intimate with the subtleties and profundities of yin and yang. We experience ourselves as a reflection of nature; and contemplate the wisdom of the ancient shamanic Daoists. This is a comprehensive and elegant physical practice for healing and flourishing in all aspects of life; ideal for anyone suffering from chronic illness, lack of energy, or depression as well as supporting vibrant health, creativity, and ecstatic aliveness.

These forms can be practiced by people in any stage of physical fitness and can be easily modified for those in a wheelchair or needing to sit for the practice.

Qigong movements follow a particular pattern, which make up a discrete "form."  The practitioner moves through repetitions of a form to work with the energy and experience the form's medicinal benefits.  Different forms have different purposes and effects, as they correspond to the five yin organs of Chinese Medicine (heart, liver, spleen, lungs, kidneys) and to psycho-spiritual understandings.

Some of these teachings and practices are derived from the original practice tradition of MogaDao, created and founded by Zhenzan Dao. www.mogadao.com
