In this five week series, we will progress through an in-depth study of each of the Chinese/Daoist five elements: Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal. We will study the psycho-spiritual and medicinal understandings of the elements, the anatomy of the corresponding organ systems, and bring all this into the body via asana practice. Some qigong forms will be included as well to inform the yoga practice with awareness of the movement, cultivation and protection of qi. We will also come into a more embodied understanding of the great polarities of Yin and Yang within each element, each asana, and across the five element cycle.
