Being born isn't easy.
Birth is a major transition for your baby, physically, spiritually and emotionally.
The birth process exerts forces on a baby's head, potentially compressing important nerves that govern digestion, sleep and other essential physiological functions. Even the normal process of being born can activate baby’s nervous system into a fight, flight or freeze response, creating physiological dysfunction and distress that can be expressed as feeding challenges, difficulty calming and sleeping, colic, attachment and more.
"Every baby should have a craniosacral therapy session."
—Robert Fulford, DO, one of the fathers of modern craniosacral therapy.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy for Babies is a gentle and effective way to help your baby integrate from the birth experience, resolving any minor or major traumas, and allows the newborn’s system to calm and reorganize to its innate health. This includes regulating the nervous system, as well as physical adjustments and alignment.
Mothers are often included in the session as a powerful way to process the shared experience of the birth. Calming mom's nervous system, supporting physical and emotional healing, bonding and transition into new motherhood has a direct impact on the wellbeing of the newborn as well as the family system as a whole.
As a practitioner, I have a deep respect for and awe of the threshold moment of a new being coming into life, and the transformation this brings to every member of the family. All babies and mothers, regardless of the course of their birth experience, can benefit from this therapy.
